Brown Sugar & Spice Sugar Cookie Frogs
- Prepare Dry Ingredients:
- In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and spices. Set aside.
- Cream Sugar and Butter:
- In a separate large bowl, cream the sugar and butter together until light and fluffy. Add the egg and extracts, mixing until fully incorporated.
- Combine the Ingredients:
- Gradually add the flour mixture to the wet ingredients, beating on low until just combined. Scrape down the sides and bottom of the bowl to ensure everything is fully incorporated. The dough will be thick; if needed, use your hands to knead in any stray flour bits from the bottom of the bowl.
- Roll and Cut the Dough:
- Lightly flour your work surface. Roll the dough out to your desired thickness and use a frog-shaped cutter (or any shape you like) to cut out cookies.
- Bake the Cookies:
- Place the cookie shapes on parchment-lined baking sheets. Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 9-12 minutes, depending on the size of your cookies. The edges should be slightly golden when done.
- Cool and Serve:
- Let the cookies sit on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring them to a cooling rack. Allow them to cool completely before serving or decorating.
