Prepare the Pie:

  • Preheat the oven to 325°F (165°C).
  • Lightly beat the eggs in a bowl.
  • Add the sugar and flour to the beaten eggs, mixing until smooth.
  • Stir in the melted butter, then add the buttermilk and vanilla extract. Mix well until fully combined.

Prepare the Pie Shell:

  • Dust the unbaked pie shell lightly with a bit of flour to prevent sticking.
  • Pour the batter into the prepared pie shell, then sprinkle a little more flour on top for a light, crisp finish.

Bake the Pie:

  • Place the pie in the oven and bake at 325°F for about 1 hour, or until the custard is set (a knife inserted should come out clean).
  • Allow the pie to cool before serving.
