Coffee-Infused Barbeque Baby Back Ribs
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Mix the rub: In a small bowl, combine the first seven ingredients (your spice rub).
- Prep the ribs: Cut each rack into smaller sections for easier handling, or keep them whole if you prefer. Rub the spice mixture all over the ribs, making sure to coat every bit.
- Set up the roasting pan: Pour 4 cups of water and 1 teaspoon of liquid smoke into a roasting pan. Place the ribs in the pan with the meat side facing up. Cover the pan tightly with foil and bake for 2 hours.
- Rest the ribs: After baking, remove the ribs from the oven and let them rest until you’re ready to grill.
- Make the BBQ sauce: While the ribs rest, heat 1 tablespoon of oil in a saucepan over medium heat. Add the garlic and sauté for 1-2 minutes until fragrant. Stir in the remaining BBQ sauce ingredients and let it simmer for at least 30 minutes, stirring occasionally.
- Grill the ribs: Preheat your grill to medium-low heat. Brush the ribs generously with the BBQ sauce. Place them on the grill, turning and brushing with more sauce every 5 minutes. Grill for about 20 minutes until you’ve got a nice, flavorful bark on the ribs.
- Pro tip: Making your own BBQ sauce is fun, but if you’re short on time, grab a bottled version you love. For an easy upgrade, just simmer it for a few minutes with some coffee granules—it’ll add a deep, smoky flavor!
