Cranberry Margarita

  • Make the Cranberry Puree
    • In a saucepan over medium heat, combine 1 cup of sugar with the orange juice, stirring until the sugar dissolves.
    • Add the cranberries, setting a few aside for garnishing, and cook on low heat for 10 minutes until the berries soften and burst. Remove from heat and allow to cool.
    • Blend the cranberry mixture until smooth, then strain to get a smooth puree. Set aside.
  • Prepare the Cranberry Swizzle Sticks
    • Thread several cranberries onto each skewer, leaving some space on one end for easy handling.
    • Lightly brush the cranberry skewers with Karo syrup, then sprinkle with sugar for a frosted look.
    • Place the skewers on wax paper and freeze until firm.
  • Mix the Cocktail
    • In a cocktail shaker, add crushed ice, 1 1/2 ounces of tequila, 1/2 ounce of Grand Marnier, and 2 ounces of the cranberry puree. Shake well to combine.
  • Serve
    • Rim a martini glass with sugar, then pour in the cocktail.
    • Garnish with a cranberry swizzle stick. Enjoy your festive cranberry cocktail!
