Fried Bee Hoon / Vermicelli

Prepare Ingredients:

  • Mix sugar, white pepper, soy sauce, and water in a small bowl. Set aside.
  • Marinate chicken pieces with cornstarch in another bowl.

Cook the Protein:

  • Heat up a wok over medium-high heat and add cooking oil.
  • Stir-fry chopped garlic until aromatic and light golden brown.
  • Add the marinated chicken to the wok and stir-fry until fully cooked.
  • Toss in the shrimp and stir-fry until pink and fully cooked.

Add Noodles and Seasoning:

  • Add soaked or pre-cooked vermicelli (bee hoon) to the wok.
  • Pour in the prepared seasoning mixture and toss continuously to coat the noodles evenly.

Final Touches:

  • Stir-fry for about 3 minutes, or until the noodles are tender and well-seasoned.
  • Add bean sprouts and spring onions, tossing until the bean sprouts are just cooked but still crunchy.

Serve Hot:

  • Transfer to a serving plate and enjoy your savory, aromatic fried bee hoon immediately!
