Jam Tarts
- Prepare the Dough
- Melt the butter in a small saucepan or microwave-safe dish.
- In a mixing bowl, blend the melted butter with the cream cheese, maple syrup, and lemon juice until smooth.
- Gradually add the flour, mixing until the dough is smooth and well-combined.
- Chill the Dough
- Cover the dough and refrigerate overnight to firm up.
- Shape the Cookies
- Preheat your oven to 450°F (230°C) and lightly grease a baking sheet.
- Roll out the chilled dough on a floured surface to a 1/4-inch thickness.
- Use a 3-inch cookie cutter to cut the dough into rounds and place them on the prepared baking sheet.
- Add Jam Filling
- Make a small indentation in the center of each round with your thumb or the back of a spoon.
- Spoon a small amount of jam into each indentation.
- Bake
- Bake in the preheated oven for 15 minutes or until the cookie edges are golden brown and slightly flaky.
- If the crust isn’t quite golden, bake for an additional 2–3 minutes, watching closely.
- Cool and Serve
- Allow the cookies to cool slightly on the baking sheet before transferring to a wire rack.
