Preheat and Prepare:

Make the Batter:

  • In a large bowl, use an electric mixer on low speed to beat the butter and 1 cup of sugar together until just blended.
  • Increase the mixer speed to medium and continue beating until light and fluffy, about 5 minutes.
  • In a separate medium bowl, combine the flour, baking powder, and salt. Set aside.
  • Reduce the mixer speed to low and add the eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition. Occasionally scrape down the sides of the bowl with a rubber spatula to ensure everything is mixed well.
  • Alternately add the flour mixture and the milk to the batter, mixing just until combined after each addition.

Add the Blueberries:

  • Gently fold the blueberries into the batter, being careful not to break them.

Bake the Bread:

  • Spoon the batter into the prepared loaf pan, spreading it evenly.
  • Bake for 1 hour and 5 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center of the bread comes out clean.

Cool and Serve:

  • Let the bread cool in the pan on a wire rack for 10 minutes.
  • After 10 minutes, remove the bread from the pan and cool completely on the wire rack before slicing and serving.
